Claude Giroux is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre who currently plays for the National Hockey League’s Ottawa Senators (NHL).

He previously spent time with the Philadelphia Flyers and the Florida Panthers. Giroux, who was chosen 22nd overall by the Flyers in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, was named team captain in 2013, becoming the team’s longest-tenured captain.

Claude Giroux has not retired. Giroux recently signed a three-year, $19.5 million contract with the Ottawa Senators on July 13, 2022.

Claude Giroux has been in the NHL for 15 years. Giroux played in his 1000th NHL game on March 17, 2022, a 5-4 home victory over the Nashville Predators

Bobby Clarke presented him with a silver stick during a pre-game ceremony, and despite not scoring, he was named the game’s first star.

He became the 40th NHL player to play 1000 games for a single team, and only the second Flyer to do so, following Clarke.

He won a gold medal at the international level with Team Canada in the 2008 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.
