He previously played in Major League Baseball for the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs, as well as in the Cuban National Series for Holgun.
After the 2015 season, the Reds traded Chapman to the Yankees, who then traded him to the Cubs during the 2016 season. Chapman won Game 7 of the 2016 World Series with the Cubs.
After the 2016 season, he signed with the Yankees. Chapman was named an MLB All-Star for the American League in 2018.
