The actress played the rebellious Tumi Sello on the Netflix three-episode comedy series that premiered on the streaming service in 2020.
Lurayi was on the path to achieving more global acclaim but in a bizarre twist of events, she was found dead at her home on Sunday, July 10, 2022.
The tragic news of Lurayi’s death was confirmed in a statement by her family, which was shared by the actress’ talent agency, Eye Media Artists.

“We are deeply saddened to notify you of the passing of our beloved Busisiwe Lurayi.”
“Busisiwe passed away suddenly and was pronounced dead at her residence on Sunday [July 10, 2022] by medical personnel.”

“We humbly request that you allow us as the family to come to terms with this tragic news.”
