Gregory was born in Washington, D.C., to Evelyn Loretta and Martin Joseph Itzin. His father was a one-time Mayor of Wisconsin.

Gregory had always wanted to be an actor. He even studied at l the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.

Gregory guest- starred on several TV shows like in the MacGyver episode “Final Approach” (1986), The Kentucky Circle, Airplane, and Wheel of Fortune.

He was nominated for several awards including the Tony Award.

Gregory passed away on July 8, 2022 at age 74.
