Paul Brand is UK Editor for ITV News, covering the biggest stories facing the country, as well as the politics and policy behind them.

Paul was named Political Journalist of the Year at the British Journalism Awards 2020 for his work uncovering the Covid-19 crisis in care homes.

Paul presents the ITV News podcast Acting Prime Minister and is also the co-founder of the LGBT+ campaign School Diversity Week.

Paul first joined ITV News in 2008 as a journalist at ITV Wales. He has since worked for ITV London, ITV Tyne Tees, ITV Yorkshire and ITV Border, as well as Good Morning Britain (2014 TV programme).

Brand has co-presented the Peston programme on ITV and in 2021 fronted his first edition of the Tonight programme.

Cuddeford is a civil servant working at the Geospatial Commission, a government body which is part of the Cabinet Office.

In June 2021, Paul Brand welcomed an adorable baby son via surrogacy alongside his husband Joe Cuddeford.

Paul then took to social media to announce the happy news with two snaps of himself cradling baby Tomos in his arms, with a jubilant Joe sitting beside him.

Paul captioned the images on Instagram:

“Welcome to the world, Tomos George Cuddeford-Brand. Born 10th June at 9lb 5oz.

“We have never known love like this before. You are the most priceless gift.”
