Tooka Death: Who Was Tooka?

Shondale Gregory, aka Tooka, was a well-known Gangster Disciples affiliate in Chicago.

On January 12, 2012, Tooka, a 15-year-old Chicago resident, was shot and killed while waiting for a bus. Tooka was hit by a passing car.

Following a brief conversation with the teen, a passenger exited the vehicle and opened fire, striking the teen multiple times. Tooka was pronounced dead at the scene.

His shooting is thought to be in retaliation for the death of another gang member, 17-year-old Eddrick Walker, aka Ty, of the Black Disciples, who was killed by GD members.

In retaliation for Tooka’s death, GD murdered Odee Perry, a 20-year-old BD gang member. Gakirah Barnes, one of Tooka’s closest friends, may have been responsible for the murder, according to the Daily Mail.
