Nicolas Toledo, a grandfather and Jacki Sundheim, a devout synagogue member were among the seven people killed in the July 4th parade in Highland Park, Illinois.

According to Lake County Coroner Jennifer Banek, five people died at the scene and one died later at a hospital. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office announced the seventh death on Tuesday, July 5 afternoon.
Jacki Sundheim was a lifelong member of the North Shore Congregation Israel. The Synagogue praised the “tireless dedication” of Jacki who was also a former preschool teacher.

Alejo Toledo, Nicolas Toledo’s son, confirmed to NBC News that his father was a victim of the shooting.

Toledo, 78, had initially refused to attend the parade, according to one of his granddaughters, but family members persuaded him to go because his disabilities required him to be accompanied full-time.
The rest of the victims are; 64-year-old Katherine Goldstein of Highland Park, 35-year-old Irina McCarthy of Highland Park, 37-year-old Kevin McCarthy of Highland Park and 88-year-old Stephen Straus of Highland Park
The identity of the seventh victim has not been revealed. Lake County Deputy Chief Christopher Covelli stated on Tuesday, July 6 that no children had died.
