Mascot of the Planters snack food company, Mr Peanut is dead. He died on January 22, 2020. He was 104.

Mr. Peanut is known for wearing hats and swinging his cane. He is believed to have sacrificed himself to save his friends at a very crucial time of their lives.
Mr Peanut’s real name is Bartholomew Richard Fitzgerald-Smythe.
He was reportedly created in 1916 by a 10-year-old lad named Anthony Gentile.
Anthony has put in for a trademark competition, which he won after submitting the drawing of a smiling peanut with arms and legs.

Mr. Peanut “died” in a spot released by Planters ahead of Super Bowl.
Mr. Peanut’s passing was announced in a commercial before the game, after which a funeral was conducted in a second commercial.
The likes of Mr. Clean and the Kool-Aid Man, had attended the funeral.
Planters food company had also halted all of its campaigns on social media at the time.
