Robert Paul Melvin is the manager of the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball. He is an American former professional baseball player and coach (MLB). He has three times been named Manager of the Year.

Melvin has managed the Seattle Mariners (2003-04), the Arizona Diamondbacks (2005-09), and the Oakland Athletics (2011-2021).
Melvin was named National League Manager of the Year in 2007 and American League Manager of the Year in 2008.
