Dawn Elliott is the mother of Ezekiel Elliott. Her son was named to the second-team All-America and was selected fourth overall in the 2016 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys.

In August 2021, the Cowboys restructured her son’s contract, converting $8.6 million of his base salary for the upcoming season into a signing bonus to save some salary-cap space.

Despite dealing with lingering knee and injuries during the majority of the season, Elliott was still able to start all 17 games and rush for 1002 yards and 10 touchdowns on 237 years and two touchdowns.
In the Wild Card Round against the San Francisco 49ers, Elliott rushed 31 yards in the 23-17 loss. After the game, it was revealed that Elliott was playing with a partially torn PCL, which he suffered in Week 4 against Carolina Panthers.
