The 2022 Tour de France, will see 22 teams, with eight riders per team, with a total of 176 cyclists in the field.

The 2022 tour map will unveil four countries: Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland and France, the highest number in five years.
When Does The Tour de France Begin?
The Tour de France 2022 begins in Copenhagen on July 1 and will wrap up on July 24 at the Champs-Elysees in Paris.
During the 21 stages in Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland and France, riders will cover over 200km thrice.

The 21 stages will include six flat stages, seven hilly stages and six mountain stages with five summit finishes.

The longest stage of the Tour de France 2022 is the hilly stage six.
This stage falls between the Belgian city of Binche and Longwy in north-eastern France.
It spans below 220km and riders are expected to finish it in 5 hours or more. After about 146km, there will be three major climbs, including the two-kilometre Cote des Mazures.
Amongst all the mountains, the highest is the Col du Galibier, which has a 2,642-metre peak.
Riders will visit this mountain twice – in the 11th and 12th stages.
The longest mountain is the Col de la Croix de Fer, which is as high as 1,508 metres and covers a distance of 29 kilometres.
