The Tour de France is an annual multi-stage bicycle race for men that takes place primarily in France but also occasionally in neighbouring countries.

The 109th Tour de France began on Friday, July 1st, with cyclists departing from Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital city, for the arduous task of conquering 21 brutal stages from July 1st to July 24th.
The race will be followed by the inaugural Tour de France Femmes, which will have its first stage on the Tour’s final day.

The overall winner, or general classification champion, of this year’s Tour de France, will receive €506,790.

Second and third place will earn €202,520 and €100,780, respectively, for their podium positions.
Following that, the remaining top seven riders will each receive at least €9,920, while each rider who completes the final stage in Paris will receive approximately €992.
Each stage winner received €11,000 in 2021, Second place was worth €5,500, while third place was worth €2,800. Every rider down to 20th place (€300) earned a share of the €28,650 available each day.
