Max Holloway is an American professional mixed martial artist.

Jerome Max Keli’i Holloway was born on December 4, 1991, in Waianae, Hawaii, United States. He is of Native Hawaiian, Samoan and English ancestry. Holloway’s parents were  Missy Kapoi and Mark Holloway. His abusive father left when Max was around 11 years old.

Max Holloway began training kickboxing in 2007 at the end of his sophomore year when he was 15 years old. He won his first amateur bout in the sport following three days of training. He graduated from Waianae High School in 2010.

In his early MMA career, Max Holloway had amassed a record of 4–0 at the age of 19. He has been a professional since 2010 and became the UFC Featherweight Champion when he defeated José Aldo on June 3, 2017. He is #1 in UFC featherweight rankings as of March 29, 2021.

As of February 14, 2022, Max Holloway is #6 in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings. He started dating Hawaiian surfer Alessa Quizon in early 2020. The pair got engaged on November 18.
