Nick Kyrgios’ elder brother has Alopecia Areata. He signed up to be an ambassador for the Australia Alopecia Areata Foundation, to be a mentor and increase education on the rare condition.

About 2 per cent of the Australian population have alopecia, with 19 people registered in the ACT and another 200 who have been diagnosed in Canberra but not connected to the foundation.

Nick’s brother is the head of franchising and legal for Gold’s Gym Australia, a business owner and is helping manage world Nick’s rising tennis career.

Nick’s brother’s condition affects about one in 200,000 and can occur at any age. The Australian Alopecia Areata foundation hoped to raise enough money for significant research.
