Croatian tennis player, Petra Martic was born in Split, Croatia, on January 19, 1991, to her parents, Nenad and Sandra Martic.

Petra grew up in the village of Duće. She was 5 years old when she lost her father in a car accident.
Petra’s mother began to raise her up single-handedly and this motivated her to excel in her tennis career.
Since she turned professional, she has achieved a career high of world number 14 in the singles ranking.
During the 2019 İstanbul Cup, Petra clinched one singles title on the WTA Tour, and qualified for the quarterfinals of the 2019 French Open.

She is also a winner of one WTA doubles and one WTA 125 singles tournament.
On the ITF Circuit, Petra has won four singles and five doubles titles.
Petra adopts an aggressive style of play in the courts. She has tremendous groundstrokes and is able to strike both her forehand and her backhand flat.
Petra lives in Freeport, Bahamas and currently ranks world number 47.
