In the 1960s, Gipo Arbino was a rising tennis star who was unable to continue playing because of financial issues.

He had a regular job at a business that sold corrosion-reduction products. He gave teaching tennis a try and got great feedback, which allowed him to change careers and work as a tennis coach full-time.

Gipo met Lorenzo in 2006 through a mutual friend, and ever since, Lorenzo has grown up under Gipo’s guidance, starting at the age of 11.

Since then, Arbino has been working with Lorenzo, who made his ATP debut as a professional in 2016 and won his first championship in 2019.

Arbino has also helped Lorenzo beat Novak Djokovic, which caused the Serbian to equal his record for the fewest games won in a match.

Gipo is also the founder of Torino Tennis Talent where young tennis players are instructed and mentored.
