Stan Wawrinka is a professional tennis player from Switzerland. On January 27, 2014, he achieved a career-high Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) singles ranking of world No. 3 for the first time.

His career highlights include three Grand Slam titles at the 2014 Australian Open, 2015 French Open, and 2016 US Open, all of which he won by defeating the world’s No. 1 player in the final.

Other accomplishments include reaching the 2017 French Open final, winning an ATP Tour Masters 1000 title at the 2014 Monte-Carlo Masters, and reaching three other Masters finals at 2008 Rome, 2013 Madrid and 2017 Indian Wells.

Wawrinka won gold in doubles with teammate Roger Federer at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and he was also pivotal in Switzerland’s Davis Cup victory in 2014.

What happened to tennis player Stan Wawrinka?

Wawrinka had surgery in March 2021 after suffering a foot injury in early 2021 but needed another three months later. He has since recovered and is back on the court.
