The United States Supreme Court has overturned Roe v Wade officially. On Friday, June 24, 2022, it was issuing a ruling in the Mississippi case which was challenging a state law banning most abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy.

“The landmark precedent established in the 1973 ruling in Roe, which enshrined constitutional protections for the procedure, is now dead,” sources report.

The first major abortion rights challenge in front of the new conservative majority on the court with its three newest justice was Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health Organization. All the three newest justices were appointed by former President Donald Trump.

According to sources, the Roe ruling effectively repealed laws that banned the procedure outright and sparked decades of religious and moral conflict over women’s bodies.
