The Oklahoma City Thunder selected Chet Holmgren with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft on Thursday, June 23 2022.

Chet Thomas Holmgren is a consensus five-star recruit and the top player in the 2021 class. Holmgren gained national notoriety in August 2019 after crossing over basketball player Stephen Curry during Curry’s own SC30 Select Camp.
Holmgren earned roughly 30 scholarship offers from college basketball programmes when he entered his junior season.

Holmgren had 14 points, 13 rebounds, 7 blocks, and 6 assists in a 97-63 win over Dixie State in his college debut.
In his debut, he became the first player in 25 years to have at least 10 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 blocks. He averaged 14.1 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks per game as a rookie.
Holmgren represented the United States in the FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup in Latvia in 2021. He led his team to a gold medal by averaging 11.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.7 blocks per game. He was named tournament MVP.
