Baldwin was a consensus five-star recruit and one of the top 2021 prospects. On May 12, 2021, he chose to play college basketball for Milwaukee under his father’s coaching over offers from Duke and Georgetown.
He was also the youngest player ever to be offered a scholarship to Duke, receiving the offer in his second year of high school. He became the highest-rated recruit in Horizon League history to commit.
