How many members are in the house?

The United States House of Representatives usually known as ‘ The House’ is the lower house of the United States Congress.

Federal legislation, or “bills,” are passed by the House and then given to the president for his or her consideration after being approved by the Senate.

Additionally, the House has sole authority to originate all revenue bills, remove federal officials from office, and choose the president if no candidate obtains a majority of the Electoral College’s votes.

The House convenes in the south wing of the United States Capitol. The Speaker of the House, who is chosen by its members, serves as the presiding officer.

Depending on which party has the majority of voting members, either the Democratic Caucus or the Republican Conference elects the Speaker and other floor leaders.
