According to law enforcement sources, rapper Lil Tjay was one of two men injured in a shooting in New Jersey early Wednesday, June 22 2022.

The shooting of Lil Tjay is part of an alarming increase in violence against rappers around the country in recent years.
Tjay was scheduled to have emergency surgery following the alleged shooting, according to law police.
At around 12:08 a.m., police officers arrived at the Promenade in Edgewater after receiving a 911 call. According to authorities, the shooting ‘does not appear to be a random act.’

According to the report, the incident included one shooting at a neighbourhood Chipotle and another at a petrol station. While the report mentions a second victim, no additional information has been made available.

Though no identities were disclosed, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Edgewater Police Department both issued a brief statement Wednesday, June 22 morning, referring to the same occurrence.
