Nathan Raymond MacKinnon is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. MacKinnon plays as a centre and is the alternate captain of the National Hockey League’s Colorado Avalanche (NHL).

Nathan Raymond MacKinnon has scored 66 points (28 goals, 38 assists) in 45 playoff games in his NHL career which is currently the sixth-highest playoff points per game average in NHL history

MacKinnon made his NHL debut with the Avalanche on Oct. 2, 2013, at the age of 18 years and 31 days, making him the franchise’s youngest player ever.

At the end of the season, MacKinnon led all rookies in  39 assists, 63 points, and 24 goals tied. He easily won the Calder Trophy as the NHL’s outstanding rookie, setting a record as the youngest player to do so at 18 years, 224 days.

MacKinnon finished fifth in the NHL with 93 points (35 goals, 58 assists) in 69 games in 2019-20, earning the Lady Byng Award, which is given to the player who best combines sportsmanship, and gentlemanly behaviour, and ability.

During the Stanley Cup Playoffs, he had 25 points (nine goals, 16 assists) in 15 games and was leading all players in postseason scoring before the Avalanche were defeated in Game 7 of the Western Conference Second Round.
