Does Nicolas Cage have anger issues?

Nicholas Cage has played some pretty mean roles in a lot of movies in his illustrious career as an action film star.

However, the actor revealed that throughout the beginning of his career, he had an extremely bad behaviour fueled by anger which included trashing his trailer and insulting people.

According to Nicholas Cage, he did these because he thought it was the best way to get into character.

In an interview with The Sun newspaper in 2013, the Nicholas Cage revealed that his anger could have had other repercussions on him such as ending him up in jail.

Nicholas Cage said;

“I wish I had not been so angry at 18.”

“I was a pretty wild guy with a lot of energy. I wanted that energy to go somewhere. I wanted it to be constructive rather than destructive – but I just did not have a clue in which direction to take it.”

Nicholas Cage further revealed that it was Richard Gere who warned him to put his anger/ bad behaviour to and end and get a hold of his life.

According to Nicholas Cage, Gere told him that he would not make it as a star if he carried on the way he was.
