Aideen Kennedy, an Irish TV presenter best known for her work at UTV, died at the age of 43 after suffering from a terminal illness. Emma Little-Pengally, Aideen’s friend verified Aideen’s death on Saturday, June 18 night.

She tweeted that ”Aideen, my lovely, hilarious, and compassionate friend, died recently. ‘Devastated,’ ‘I’m going to miss her horribly.’ We met when we shared a room for the summer in DC 22 years ago and became fast friends. ‘Goodbye, lovely girl.’
Aideen’s death comes after she urged supporters to say prayers’ for her in a Twitter tweet on Tuesday, June 14 in which she informed her 16,600 followers that she was in the hospital.

She shared images of herself receiving one of 12 blood transfusions after revealing she was ‘bleeding in her tummy’ and saying she was ‘going home to die’ three days later.
‘So life has not gone well and I am as sick as I was when I went into the hospital, so effectively going home to die but getting palliative care,’ the journalist wrote.
The exact cause of her death has not been disclosed. Aideen is survived by her two children and parents Noel and Maura.
