Who Is Julian Assange’s Wife?

International lawyer Stella Moris, is Julian Assange’s current wife.

Moris’ real name is Sara Gonzalez. She is a South African but has Cuban, Spanish and Swedish roots.

She was born in Johannesburg in 1983 to activists parents. Her father is Swedish-Cuban and her mother is Spanish.

Moris has lived in several  countries, including Botswana, Lesotho, Sweden and Spain.

Moris is a trained lawyer and human rights activist. She bagged her first degree in law and politics from SOAS University of London.

She proceeded for a masters in refugee law at Oxford, and a second master’s degree in public international law from a University in Madrid.

How Did Stella Moris meet Julian Assange?

Moris and Assange met in 2011 when she worked in his legal team and ended up having two sons together.

The duo eventually tied the knots while Assange was in prison. They had held a low-key ceremony at the London’s high-security Belmarsh prison.

“I am very happy and very sad,” she had said on that day. “I love Julian with all my heart, and I wish he were here. He’s the most amazing person in the world, and he should be free”, she said.
