Amanda Aldridge Ethnicity And Nationality

Late legendary singer, Amanda Aldridge, is a British national but her ethnicity is African American. She also has Swedish/Caucasian roots.

Amanda passed away on  March 9, 1956, at age 89, after a brief illness. It was just a day to her 90th birthday.

Today, Google celebrates her with a doodle for her inspiring songs and orchestral pieces which she composed under the pseudonym of Montague Ring.

Amanda worked as a concert singer, and later as a voice teacher, following a throat condition.

She published about thirty songs between 1907 and 1925 in various styles.

She had students such asl Roland Hayes, Lawrence Benjamin Brown, Marian Anderson and Paul Robeson, who later became notable musicians.

Amanda made her TV debut with the show Music For You, where Muriel Smith sang Montague Ring’s “Little Southern Love Song”.

In 2020, Stephen Bourne wrote a feature titled “At home with Amanda Ira Aldridge”, in one of the editions of ‘The Historian’.

Bourne also wrote an article for the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, in honour of the late singer.
