Tyler Barriss was a homeless man in Los Angeles, California. He was known for making hoax calls and had criminal charges in Los Angeles County for domestic abuse and false bomb threats.

He was on the authorities’ wanted list after reporting 30 fake bomb threats. A fight broke out between Casey Viner and Shane Gaskill in the game Call of Duty: WWII. Casey threatened to have Shane swatted during the argument, and Share replied by giving a false address.
Shane’s bogus address belonged to Andrew Finch, and he did not know of any of the players.

Tyler Barriss dialled the Wichita Police Department. Officer Justin Rapp responded to the report and fired a shot at Andrew as he exited his home.
Tyler Barriss is currently spending time at the Federal Correctional Institution in Phoenix, Arizona, for the crimes he committed that resulted in the death of an innocent person.
In 2019, he was sentenced to 20 years in jail for making false emergency calls. He had pleaded guilty to a total of 51 federal crimes, all of which were related to bogus phone calls and threats.
In swatting cases, the most severe punishment is a 20-year sentence to life in prison.
