After the Met, Gala carpet had cleared and the fashionable festivities were over, Kim wore another Marilyn Monroe dress.

ICYMI, the star wore Marilyn’s famous sheer dress on the Met Gala carpet. She later changed into a replica, as the real dress, worn in 1962, was far too precious for an entire night of wear.

The 60-year-old garment was designed for Monroe, who wore it back in 1962 when she famously sang “Happy Birthday” to then-President John F. Kennedy.

The garment was loaned to Kardashian by Ripley’s Believe it or Not!, who purchased the gown for a whopping $4.8 million at a 2016 auction.

“I am so honored to be wearing the iconic dress that Marilyn Monroe wore in 1962 to sing ‘Happy Birthday to President John F. Kennedy,” Kardashian said in a post published on her verified Instagram account at the time.
