Baseball player for the New York Yankees, Matt Carpenter, is American. He was born in born in Galveston, Texas, to American parents.

Matt Carpenter Career
Matt began playing while at Elkins High School, and won the all-state tournament twice.
In 2002, he led his team to a 35–1 record and the USA Today National Prep Championship.
The same year, he was named the District Sophomore of the Year that year, and till date, he has the most career hits in the history of his Alma mater.
In 2004, he was named a 2004 TPX second-team High School All-American.

Matt continued to play after gaining admission into Texas Christian University (TCU), where he studied communications.

As a freshman, Matt played 50 games and batted .289, 27 runs batted in (RBI), eight doubles (2B) and one home run (HR) with 11 multi-hit games and eight multiple-RBI games.
Matt Carpenter St. Louis Cardinals
Before joining the New York Yankees, Matt played for 11 seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals, and recorded 275 bats with 155 homers and 576 RBIs in 21 games.
In his first year, he played 19 games, one at third and the other two at designated hitter.
While he played for the Cardinals, he was named the first Silver Slugger Award winner in the history of the Cardinals franchise.
