The show allows multiple entrepreneurs to pitch their various business ideas to a panel of five wealthy investors, dubbed the “Dragons” in the show’s title, in exchange for financial investment and a stake in the company.
The first episode aired on BBC Two on January 4, 2005, and after 16 seasons, the show has been carried on BBC One since 2021. Previous episodes are still being rebroadcast on BBC Two.

What happened to Dragons Den investments?
Since the show’s debut in 2005 to the end of Series 11, 143 deals worth £13 million have been verbally negotiated in the Den, however, only 76 have gone through post-show with £5.8 million spent.
23 of the 143 enterprises that successfully pitched have ceased operations. Only £5.8 million of the £13 million pledged by the Dragons has ever been invested.
The greatest amount ever successfully pitched in the Den is £250,000.
However, neither of the companies that were offered £250,000 received the investment after the show
