Matt Zimmerman, a Canadian retired actor best known as the voice of Alan Tracy in the 1960s TV series Thunderbirds, died on June 22, 2022, at the age of 87.

Morgan Jeffery confirmed the tragic news in a Twitter message, writing It’s with great sadness that we report the death, at the age of 87, of Matt Zimmerman, the voice of Thunderbirds’ Alan Tracy.”
There is no information available on his cause of death at the moment.

Matt was cast as Alan Tracy in Thunderbirds because David Holliday, recommended him to producers Gerry and Sylvia Anderson. He discussed his experience in an interview, saying, “They were having great difficulties casting the character of Alan Tracy because they wanted a certain voice for him.”
In addition to Alan, the late Matt voiced a variety of minor roles. He also portrayed Shooty in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Other TV shows include T-Bag, Mike, Angelo, Crazy Like a Fox, and Never the Twain, as well as numerous advertisements, most notably for Wrangler Jeans.
