While in high school at Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village, she played as a middle infielder and led her team to win the Marmonte League title three times. She was awarded Marmonte League Most Valuable Player.
Maya has been a league MVP twice with a record of a .558 batting average with 12 home runs and 32 runs batted in (RBI).

In 2019, Maya won the All-County Softball Player of the Year and Los Angeles Daily News Player of the Year, and ranked No. 2 recruit across the federation.

Maya was born in 2001 to Maureen Brady and Brian Timmons. Her mother used to be an All-American pitcher while at Fresno State during her own days.
