UCLA defeated Florida 8-0 in run-rule fashion on Sunday, June 5, advancing to the semifinal round and eliminating the Gators from the Women’s College World Series.

“The emotions that finished the game were insane,” said UCLA starting pitcher Holly Azevedo. “I was going crazy with all the girls in the dugout when (Pola) got that double.” Then there’s that moment when everyone just dumps water on me.”
Brady drove in two runs with a bases-loaded double that sailed between first and second bases two at-bats before Pola’s walk-off. It increased the Bruins’ lead to six points just before Pola’s final shot.

After failing to get hits early in the game, the UCLA Bruins changed their lineup for the second time through and finished with eight.
Aside from UCLA’s inability to find consistent offence, the Gators hurt themselves with multiple errors. Florida shortstop Skylar Wallace bobbled an easy ground ball from UCLA pinch-hitter Seneca Curo in the fourth inning, allowing a run to score.
