Alec John Such, a founding member of the rock band Bon Jovi, passed away at the age of 70. Jon Bon Jovi confirmed his death on June 5 on social media, but no cause was given.

“We are heartbroken to learn of the demise of our great friend Alec John Such,” Bon Jovi wrote on Facebook. “He was a one-of-a-kind.” Alec was always rambunctious and full of life. These precious memories bring a smile to my face and a tear to my eye today. We will miss him dearly.”

Such was a member of the bands Sambora, The Message, and The Message before joining Bon Jovi.
Slippery When Wet, the band’s third album, was a huge success, selling 12 million copies. Its follow-up, 1988’s New Jersey, was equally successful, propelling the band to a Giants Stadium performance in their home area that summer. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018,
