It stars Seinfeld as a fictionalised version of himself and centres on his personal life with three of his friends: closest friend George Costanza, former lover Elaine Benes and his neighbour from across the hall, Cosmo Kramer

Seinfeld is largely considered to be one of the best and most influential sitcoms of all time. Yankees owner George Steinbrenner was caricatured in Seinfeld when George Costanza worked for the Yankees for several seasons.

Larry David played the character, who chatted constantly regardless of whether anyone was listening and referred to himself as “Big Stein” at times. His face was never seen, but the back of Steinbrenner was the back of Lee Bear.

What did George Steinbrenner think of Seinfeld?

In 1997, Steinbrenner told Entertainment Weekly that liked “Seinfeld” and its depiction of the chaotic Yankees office environment. He wasn’t thrilled with David’s voice impression, but Steinbrenner laughed at some of the writers’ ridiculous ideas.
