Shakira and her partner Gerard Piqué have called it quits. Following an 11-year romance, the Colombian singer stated that she is no longer with her footballer beau.

‘We hate to confirm that we are parting ways,’ Shakira said in a statement. We ask that you respect the privacy of our children, as their safety is our first responsibility. Thank you for your patience.’
The couple had been dating since 2011, after meeting while filming a music video for her World Cup song Waka Waka the year before. While Shakira and Gerard never married, they did have two kids, Milan, nine, and Sasha, seven, during their relationship.

The split comes after the Barcelona defender was allegedly caught with another woman. According to reports, the couple has been living apart for a few weeks after Pique was kicked out of their family home. False claims have been made that the lady with whom he supposedly cheated was the mother of Barcelona teammate Gavi.
