Fire Island and The Hamptons are both located in Suffolk County but Fire Island is not regarded as part of the Hamptons; rather, it is a more inclusive and inviting community, without pretence or class distinction, which distinguishes it from the Hamptons. Location wise, Fire Island is almost 3hrs 55mins by bus away from the Hamptons.
