Why did the jury side with Johnny Depp?

The seven-person civil jury (five men, two women) has found in favour of Johnny Depp in the high profile court case against Amber Heard. They found that he was in the right on all three counts brought by Depp’s legal team, awarding him $15 million in compensation.

The seven-panel jury also decided that Depp, through his lawyer, Adam Waldman defamed Heard on one of three counts in her countersuit; she was awarded $2 million.

The unanimous decision was delivered on the third day of deliberation, bringing an end to the trial after 6 weeks of emotional testimony recounting Depp and Heard’s relationship and its fallouts.

Depp who was not in court on Wednesday, said, “the jury gave me my life back. I am truly humbled”.
