Mike Missanelli, a sports radio host in Philadelphia, announced his departure from 97.5 The Fanatic on Tuesday, May 31 after 15 years. According to Missanelli, his current contract with the station is set to end in a few weeks, and he and station owner Beasley Media Group have decided to go “in another direction.”

For over a decade, Missanelli was a host on 97.5 the Fanatic. He began his professional career as a writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer before moving on to work in Philly sports radio on 610 WIP and 93.3 WMMR.

Missanelli signed a multi-year contract with then-ESPN affiliate 97.5 The Fanatic in January 2010. In 2018, his show began simulcasting on NBC Sports Philadelphia. The Fanatic’s 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. schedule will continue to simulcast on NBC Sports.
Missanelli began his career as a reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer. He eventually transitioned to radio, where he worked on-air at 610 WIP.
Missanelli got involved in controversy during his time at WIP after insulting Philadelphia Eagles kicker David Akers during an interview.
Missanelli was dismissed from 610 WIP in 2006 following an incident with an on-site producer during which he allegedly punched the producer.
