According to officials, two individuals were killed and at least 19 others were injured after a two-car collision struck many pedestrians in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The crash occurred between 52nd and O Street, where the ‘Americruise’ event was taking place, according to Lincoln Police.
Authorities said a black Ford Taurus was heading westbound on O Street when it collided with a white Toyota Corolla travelling eastbound at 10:47 p.m. on Sunday, May 29.

Following the initial collision, both automobiles were propelled onto the north sidewalk of O Street, west of North 52nd Street, striking several individuals who were standing or seated to watch the incident.
LPD reported during a press conference Monday, May 30 afternoon that neither of the cars involved in the incident was participating in the Americruise event and were instead just passing through.
LPD also increased the number of people injured from 19 to 20, all of whom were treated at local hospitals. One is still in critical condition, while the other is in serious condition.
