Ralph Sampson and Hakeem Olajuwon were known as the Twin Towers in the NBA. The Rockets drafted Hakeem Olajuwon in 1984, and the two became renowned as the “Twin Towers,” an unbeatable basketball combo that played together in the NBA All-Star Game in 1985.

Samson was the first pick in the 1983 NBA draft and is the most recruited collegiate basketball player of all time. Sampson was drafted by the Houston Rockets and won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award as well as his first of four appearances in the NBA All-Star Game.

Sampson hurt his knee in 1986 and was moved to the Golden State Warriors. He later played for the Sacramento Kings and Washington Bullets. Sampson retired in 1992 after failing to fully recover from severe knee and back injuries.
Hakeem Abdul Olajuwon is a former professional basketball player of Nigerian descent. In 1994 and 1995, he led the Rockets to back-to-back NBA titles. In 2008, Olajuwon was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, and in 2016,
He was inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest centres of all time, as well as one of the greatest basketball players of all time.
