The Louvre said in a statement Monday, May 30 that the painting had not been damaged. According to the museum, the man hid the cake inside his stuff.

The picture was stolen by a museum employee in 1911, which elevated its international prominence. It was also damaged in an acid attack by a vandal in the 1950s and is now housed behind glass.
