Guy Ritchie is an English film director, producer and screenwriter. His work includes British gangster films and the Sherlock Holmes films starring Robert Downey Jr.

Ritchie left school at age 15 and worked entry-level jobs in the film industry before going on to direct television commercials. In September 2020 Variety reported that Ritchie and Statham would be collaborating on a spy thriller called Five Eyes, but was later titled Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre.
It was supposed to be released in theatres on March 18, 2022, but was pulled from the release schedule in February. Ritchie began filming his next film, an untitled war drama starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Dar Salim, Antony Starr and Emily Beecham, in February 2022 in Alicante, Spain.
