On April 5, 2021, Jeff Gladney turned himself in to authorities on a felony family violence assault charge in Dallas, after he was alleged to have struck his girlfriend during an argument.

The altercation grew out of an argument and took place over more than two hours, according to a lawsuit the woman died last year against Gladney. She also alleged in the suit that he tried to bribe her and intimidated her to keep quiet.

He was indicted on August 3, 2021, for domestic violence. On March 10, 2022, he was found not guilty. If he had been convicted, he would have been sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.
The Vikings released Gladney last August after he was indicted. Gladney, who was a first-round draft pick in 2020 out of TUC, started 15 games for the Vikings as a rookie.
