Andy Goram is a Scottish former footballer who played as a goalkeeper.

Goram was born in Bury, Lancashire, England, and he started his career with Oldham Athletic and Hibernian.

Goram, is however, best remembered for playing for Rangers during the 1990s, when he earned the nickname “The Goalie”.

In a 2001 poll of Rangers fans, Goram was voted Rangers’ greatest ever goalkeeper.

Goram signed for Rangers in the summer of 1991 and made his debut in a 6–0 win over St Johnstone on the opening day of the season.

Goram played for Rangers for about 8 seasons as he left the club at the end of season 1997–98.

After his time at Rangers, Goram went on to play for many clubs, most notably Motherwell and a brief loan spell at Manchester United.

During his time with Rangers, Goram kept twenty-six clean sheets in fifty-five appearances.

Goram also won a Premier Division Championship medal and a Scottish Cup winners’ medal while at the Glasgow based club.
