British horse trainer William Haggas’ father, Brian Haggas, was a horse trainer.

William learnt the business from his father and married Maureen Haggas, the daughter of British professional jockey, Lester Piggott.
He later acquired his license as a horse trainer, while understudying John Winter and Mark Prescott.
Haggas has trained several winners over the years from 1987 till date, including two British Classic winners – Shaamit, winner of the 1996 Derby, and Dancing Rain, winner of the 2011 Oaks.

Williams has made entries into various competitions such as U K’s Derby, Epsom Oaks, Cheveley Park Stakes, Lockinge Stakes, Eclipse Stakes, Racing Post Trophy, Yorkshire Oaks, Champion Stakes, Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.
In France, William has ran for Prix Maurice de Gheest, Prix de la Forêt, Prix du Moulin de Longchamp, Republic of Ireland Ireland, Pretty Polly Stakes, Irish Oaks, Tattersalls Gold Cup.
William has entered for Germany and Italy as well at the Preis Der Diana, and Gran Criterium respectively.
