Jimmie Johnson is an American professional auto racing driver who competes in the NTT IndyCar Series. He is a seven-time NASCAR series champion, he competed for full time in the series from 2002 to 2020, driving No.48 Chevrolet with Hendrick Motorsports, before transitioning to open-wheel racing.

Jimmie Johnson is reporting for full-time duty in 2022. The seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion who completed his rookie season in the NTT INDYCAR series with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2021 will be a full season participant in 2022. That included 106th Indianapolis 500 on May 29.
