Darvin Ham, former assistant coach for the Milwaukee Bucks, has emerged as the new head coach for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Ham’s coaching career began almost 10 years ago and so far, he has earned the respect of all and sundry both on and off the field.

Ham has a good reputation in the past few years with the Milwaukee Bucks, serving under head coach Mike Budenholzer.

When Was Darvin Ham Born?

Ham was born on July 23, 1973, in Michigan, United States.

His mother, Wilmer Jones-Ham, was the first female mayor of Saginaw and served for 4 years.

Ham is married to Deneitra Ham, and together they have a son, Darvin Ham Jr., who is also an assistant coach at Northwood University.

Darvin Ham Career

Ham played for the Philippine Basketball Association and the Detroit Pistons and won an NBA championship in 2004.

Aside from the Milwaukee Bucks, Ham has been a head coach for the Thunderbirds, and Atlanta Hawks, as well as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2011.

While he was assisting with the Lakers, he worked with the likes of Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, and Dwight Howard.
