Willow 2022 is an upcoming American fantasy adventure television series.

It is based on and serves as a sequel to the 1988 film of the same name.

Willow is centered around the prophecy of a child with a rune birthmark bringing to an end the reign of an evil sorceress;

To prevent the fulfillment of a prophecy that a child with a special rune birthmark will bring about her downfall, the evil sorceress Queen Bavmorda of Nockmaar imprisons all pregnant women in her domain.

Despite the evil sorceress’ attempts, the foretold child is born, and her mother persuades the midwife to smuggle the baby out of the castle.

The evil sorceress queen Bavmorda executes the mother and sends her wolf-like Nockmaar hounds after the midwife.

The midwife sets the baby adrift on a grass raft before she is killed by the dogs, and Bavmorda sends her daughter Sorsha and an army, led by General Kael, to hunt down the baby.

Is Willow set in the Star Wars universe?

Willow is not part of the Star Wars universe but the series will follow the OG 1980s movie directed by Ron Howard.
